BTS member Jimin, who participated in both lyrics and composition for his digital single, continues to demonstrate strong popularity even after his military enlistment by topping the Japanese music charts.
Released on December 22nd, Jimin's digital single "Closer Than This" climbed to the top of the Billboard Japan's "Download Song" chart within just three days, as of December 24th.
With this achievement, Jimin becomes the only foreign artist in the history of the chart to have two Korean songs reach the top spot, including the pre-release track "Set Me Free Pt2" from the "Face" album released earlier this year. Jimin has now secured two chart-topping songs in 2023.
In addition to "Closer Than This," Jimin has successfully entered the Billboard Japan "Hot 100" chart, reaching the 84th position within a three-day tracking period. This adds to his remarkable feat of having a total of six solo songs ("Like Crazy," "Set Me Free Pt2," "Vibe," "Angel," "Closer Than This," and "With You") charting, along with a total of 15 songs entering various charts in 2023, showcasing his unparalleled solo power.
Jimin's impressive discography includes tracks from the "Face" album, collaboration with Taeyang on "Vibe," his self-composed songs "Promise" and "Christmas Love," as well as contributions to the OSTs of TVN's drama "With You" and BTS's regular album with the song "Filter." Jimin's continuous success on the charts highlights his strong solo influence in the music industry.
