The girl group NewJeans has achieved the most nominations at the Korean Popular Music Awards.
The Korean Popular Music Awards, celebrating its 21st edition this year, announced the nominees for the ceremony. The awards ceremony, led by Chairman Kim Kwang-hyun, consists of a total of 55 judges, including Chairman Kim Kwang-hyun, music critics, music journalists and editors, music broadcast producers, and music content planners. A total of 26 categories across 3 fields are set for the awards ceremony.
NewJeans is nominated in five categories, including Best K-Pop Song and Album, while BewhY aims for Best Rap & Hip-Hop Song and Album, and Silica Gel competes in the Best Modern Rock Song and Album categories.
Particular attention is being paid to whether NewJeans will secure victories this year as well. In the 20th edition of the awards ceremony in 2023, NewJeans triumphed over strong competitors, winning three categories including Rookie of the Year, Best K-Pop Song, and Best K-Pop Album.
