A documentary closely following the Korean boy group TWS (TWS, Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Young Jae, Han Jin, Ji Hoon, Kyung Min) will be broadcasted on Japan's largest private broadcaster, FujiTV.
According to Pledis Entertainment, their agency, on the 16th, 'TWS DOCUMENT 2024.01.22' will be scheduled to air on FujiTV TWO channel from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) on March 8th.
The documentary will include scenes from TWS's debut showcase, providing an opportunity to see not only their stage performances but also the sincere sides of the members.
It is remarkable for FujiTV to handle the Korean debut of a K-pop group as a solo documentary. Moreover, it's highly unusual for this broadcasting company to use the name of a rookie group as the program title.
FujiTV introduced TWS as "'The younger brother group of Seventeen' who has already gained global attention," stating, "The six elite members who have both the talent and appearance to stand at the center."
TWS, the new boy group from Pledis Entertainment after 9 years and the first runner from Hive Labels in 2024, debuted on January 22nd and is currently gaining immense popularity.
In their second week after debut, TWS's mini-album 'Sparkling Blue' recorded 6th place in the all-time debut sales ranking for K-pop boy groups (based on album sales within a week of release/Hanteo Chart), and ranked 1st in Japan's Oricon 'Daily Album Ranking' (as of February 5th).
Their title track 'The First Meeting Didn't Go as Planned' topped the Japan Rakuten Music 'Weekly Ranking' for two consecutive weeks (from January 24th to 30th, and January 31st to February 6th). They are also maintaining high rankings on major domestic music streaming sites such as Bugs (1st), Flo (2nd), Melon (4th), Genie (5th), and Spotify Korea (8th) based on the daily charts for the 14th.
