NewJeans will be the first K-pop girl group to present a special stage at the Gyeongbokgung Palace Geunjeongjeon Hall.
As part of the '2024 Korea On Stage - New Generation' event organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration, the National Heritage Promotion Institute, and KBS Korean Broadcasting, a special stage will take place in front of the Heungryemun Gate at Gyeongbokgung Palace on the 21st.
Recently, NewJeans completed a special stage prerecording at the Geunjeongjeon Hall. Geunjeongjeon is a significant palace building where major ceremonies of the Joseon Dynasty were held and is currently designated as a national treasure.
Public performances in the area of Geunjeongjeon have been rare since the opening of Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1954. The Cultural Heritage Administration has specifically opened Geunjeongjeon for the special stage of NewJeans, who lead K-pop domestically, attracting attention. NewJeans, the first K-pop girl group to perform a special stage at Geunjeongjeon, is scheduled to present a particularly special stage for "Cool With You" on that day.
Especially for this stage, the styling featuring specially made traditional Korean clothing with reinterpretations of dansam jeogori, suranchima, daeran chima, shoes in bu-seon style, and headpieces with a goddess-like feel accentuating Korea's beauty will be a focal point.
Adding to this will be a fantastic performance that illuminates the night scenery of Geunjeongjeon, conveying both the greatness of national heritage and the status of K-pop simultaneously.
