'Supernatural' by NewJeans dominates Japan's music charts for two consecutive days.
NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) have taken over Japan's major album and music charts for two consecutive days. According to the latest chart released by Oricon on the 23rd, NewJeans' Japanese debut single 'Supernatural' topped the 'Daily Single Ranking' on the 22nd. The single had already hit number one on this chart on its release day, the 21st.
The title track 'Supernatural' also performed strongly in the digital music segment, securing the top spot on Line Music's real-time chart and subsequently ranking first on the daily charts for the 22nd and 23rd. On Oricon's 'Daily Digital Single Ranking' for the 22nd, it climbed two spots from the previous day to secure third place. The included track 'Right Now' also saw a rise, reaching sixth place.
The music videos for 'Supernatural' and 'Right Now' are also consistently popular. On Line Music's music video daily chart for the 23rd, the videos held the first and second positions respectively, and on YouTube Korea's daily trending music videos for the 22nd, they ranked second and third.
In South Korea, the single is also performing well. 'Supernatural' ranked 22nd on Melon and 29th on Genie daily charts. 'Right Now' also entered both charts, indicating dual popularity. It is uncommon for a Japanese single to rank highly on Korean music charts. NewJeans' unique charm, which resonates with listeners regardless of language, has hit the mark once again.
