The girl group aespa has broken this year's record for the longest run at number one on Melon's weekly chart with their new song "Supernova."
According to their agency SM Entertainment, aespa's double title track "Supernova" from their first full album, pre-released on May 13, topped Melon's weekly chart (June 17-23) for five consecutive weeks. This sets the record for the longest period at number one for any song released this year, continuing the 'metallic flavor' success streak.
In addition, "Supernova" has also been number one on Bugs and Genie weekly charts for six and five consecutive weeks, respectively. Another title track, "Armageddon," is also ranked within the top 10, proving aespa's strong digital presence.
Moreover, aespa achieved triple crowns on Mnet's 'M Countdown' and SBS's 'Inkigayo' with "Armageddon" and "Supernova," accumulating a total of 12 music show wins. They also topped Tencent Music's integrated K-pop chart for six consecutive weeks, marking a career-high.
Meanwhile, aespa will hold their second solo concert, "2024 aespa LIVE TOUR - SYNK : PARALLEL LINE -" on June 29 and 30 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul. On July 3, they will release their Japanese debut single "Hot Mess" and continue their active promotions.
