The group 2NE1, celebrating their 15th debut anniversary this year, met with YG Entertainment's executive producer Yang Hyun-suk. This meeting, which took place approximately 8 years after their disbandment, has raised expectations for 2NE1's potential full-group activities.
On the 28th, YG Entertainment (hereafter YG) announced, "Executive producer Yang Hyun-suk and 2NE1 had a meeting at the new YG headquarters in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 27th." They added, "Executive Yang warmly welcomed each of the four members, and an official meeting took place over approximately two hours. It was a very meaningful and significant conversation."
2NE1 debuted in 2009 with the digital single album 'Lollipop', marking the beginning of YG's lineage of girl groups. Following this, every song they released, including 'Fire', 'I Don't Care', 'Lonely', and 'I Am the Best', became a hit, solidifying the 'YG DNA'.
However, in 2016, member Gong Minzy left the team after her exclusive contract with YG ended. Reorganized as a trio, 2NE1 ultimately announced their disbandment in November of the same year, and they concluded their group activities with the release of the single 'Goodbye' in January of the following year.
