NewJeans Also a Hit in Japan

The girl group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) shared their feelings after successfully completing their fan meeting at Tokyo Dome in Japan.


On the 28th, NewJeans expressed their affectionate feelings towards their fans through their official account, saying, "Seeing you all and the light sticks (Binky Bong) from the stage was so beautiful." They added, "We hope the Bunnies (fandom name) create many more memories as happy and enjoyable as today."


NewJeans also stated, "Seeing you all on stage today (and yesterday) is a sight the five of us will hold onto forever. We are so grateful to those who came and hope you receive as much energy and love as we do."


They continued, "You all have truly created an important stage for us. It seems like we've received so much love over these two days. Thank you so much, Bunnies! It was truly a dreamlike time."


Earlier, NewJeans held their fan meeting 'Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome' on the 26th and 27th at Tokyo Dome in Japan.


This fan meeting was a large-scale event following the release of their Japanese debut single 'Supernatural' on the 21st. Entering Tokyo Dome just six days after their Japanese debut. NewJeans became the sixth K-pop girl group to enter Tokyo Dome, following Kara in 2013, Girls' Generation in 2014, Twice in 2019, Blackpink in 2019, and Aespa in 2023.


NewJeans boasted explosive popularity even in Japan. All tickets for this Tokyo Dome fan meeting were sold out. In response, the agency even opened additional seats with limited views. The fan meeting venue was filled with Bunnies gathered to see NewJeans.


To reciprocate the fans' love, NewJeans performed a parade of hit songs reminiscent of a concert. Even Hyein, who had recently taken a break due to a foot injury, participated in some parts of the fan meeting.


The members' solo stages also drew attention. Hanni, in particular, received significant attention domestically and internationally for her refreshing rendition of Japanese legendary singer Seiko Matsuda's 'Blue Coral Reef'. Additionally, Hyein performed Mariya Takeuchi's 'Plastic Love', Minji sang 'Dancer' by Boundy, and Danielle presented her self-composed song 'Butterfly', eliciting enthusiastic responses from the fans.


Meanwhile, NewJeans released their new double single 'How Sweet' on the 24th of last month. They also released their Japanese debut single 'Supernatural' on the 21st. 'Supernatural' topped the Oricon Daily Single Ranking and the Japan Line Music Daily Chart.
