Jin was discharged from the military as a sergeant from the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, on the 12th of last month. As the first BTS member to enlist, Jin's discharge signals the end of the group's military hiatus approaching. Except for Suga, who is currently serving as a social service worker, RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook attended Jin's discharge ceremony, adding to the warm atmosphere.

Following Jin's discharge, there has been speculation that he will release a solo album by the end of the year. While Big Hit Music has not yet confirmed this, it is believed that Jin's solo comeback is likely because the group needs to fill the gap left by their military service as soon as possible.

Jin has hinted at his imminent solo comeback through the fan community platform Weverse. In response to a fan's question on June 30th about what he has been doing lately, he said, "I've been recording and filming variety shows. I'm steadily working on the plans I made in the military. I'm trying to show my face as much as possible while also working on my main job. The results will be out in a few months, so please wait a little longer."

Additionally, Jin responded to a fan who expressed a desire to see him act, stating, "I have no plans to act. Sorry," indicating his dedication to his career as a singer.

The next member to be discharged is J-Hope, with his discharge date set for October 17th. RM and V, who enlisted on December 11th last year, will be discharged on June 10th, 2025, while Jimin and Jungkook, who enlisted on December 12th last year, will be discharged on June 11th, 2025. Suga, who started his service as a social worker in September last year, will complete his service on June 21st, 2025.
