BTS's Jin departs for France today (11th) to participate in the Olympic torch relay.
Chosen as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Jin will leave via Incheon International Airport in the morning. This news comes nine days after it was announced on the 2nd that he would be participating in the torch relay for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, which will officially begin on the 26th local time. The torch relay began in Olympia, Greece, last April and will travel through 64 regions, including French cities and beaches, until the opening day.
Upon arrival, Jin will take part in the torch relay, spreading messages of 'harmony' and 'peace.' Being a torchbearer for one of the world's largest sporting events highlights BTS's significant global influence once again. Fans are eagerly anticipating Jin's participation and the image he will present while carrying the symbolic torch of unity and peace.
BTS, known as the '21st-century pop icons,' have made a significant impact on popular music worldwide. They have established themselves as global artists, delivering speeches at the UN General Assembly twice and launching the 'LOVE MYSELF' campaign in partnership with the Korean Committee for UNICEF since 2017, thereby promoting positive influence.
Jin, who recently completed his military service on the 12th of last month, has resumed his activities. As the first BTS member to complete military service, he attended the '2024 FESTA' event in Seoul’s Songpa District two days after his discharge.
At the end of last month, he filmed an episode of the MBC variety show 'It's Glad You Rested Well' with his close friend, Chef Lee Yeon-bok. Jin is also reportedly recording new music. Recently, he garnered attention by visiting his alma mater, Bosung High School in Songpa District, Seoul, to produce content.
