Boy Group Stray Kids' first comeback of 2024, 'Chk Chk Boom,' has secured the 49th spot on the US Billboard 'HOT 100' chart.
According to the official SNS channels of Billboard on July 30, Stray Kids' new title track 'Chk Chk Boom' from their latest album 'ATE,' released on July 19, ranked 49th on the Billboard 'HOT 100' for the week of August 3. Stray Kids initially entered the 'HOT 100' in November 2023 with the title track 'Rock (樂)' from their mini-album '樂-STAR,' making them the first 4th generation K-pop boy group to achieve this. In May of this year, their English single 'Lose My Breath (Feat. Charlie Puth)' reached the 90th position. With 'Chk Chk Boom,' they not only achieved their highest position on the chart but also marked their third entry, solidifying their status as a 'global top artist.'
Furthermore, their new album 'ATE' debuted at number one on the Billboard 'Billboard 200' chart on August 3, with 232,000 album units sold in its first week in the US. Stray Kids first topped the 'Billboard 200' in March 2022 with 'ODDINARY,' followed by 'MAXIDENT' in October, '★★★★★ (5-STAR)' in June 2023, '樂-STAR' in November, and now 'ATE,' making it five consecutive albums to achieve this milestone. This makes Stray Kids the first group to debut at number one on their first appearance on the chart and to have five consecutive albums reach number one, second only to the American rapper DMX globally.
Additionally, 'Chk Chk Boom' entered the UK's Official Singles Chart Top 100 at its highest position yet, reaching number 30, while 'ATE' ranked 62 on the Official Albums Chart Top 100. The new album also topped the latest album charts in France, announced by the French record association SNEP on the 26th, reached number 2 on Germany's Official Charts, and ranked 7th on the Netherlands' Album Top 100 chart for the week of July 27.
Having achieved their goal of dominating the summer music market, Stray Kids will headline 'Lollapalooza Chicago' on August 2, showcasing their reputation as a 'must-see live performance group.' They will also kick off their largest world tour, 'Stray Kids World Tour <dominATE>,' with performances at the KSPO DOME in Olympic Park, Seoul, on August 24-25 and August 31-September 1.
