Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon have been selected as the MCs for the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards.
According to the Blue Dragon Film Awards' office on the 24th, Han Ji-min and Lee Je-hoon will host the ceremony, which will take place on November 29 at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. Han Ji-min, who began her acting career in 2003 in the SBS drama All In, later made her film debut in Blue Swallow in 2005. She continued to star in films like Cadaver, Detective K, The Fatal Encounter, Salut D'Amour, and The Age of Shadows before landing her breakout role in Miss Baek. For Miss Baek, she won Best Actress at the 39th Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2018, solidifying her acting credentials.
Following actress Kim Hye-soo, who has long been synonymous with the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Han Ji-min will take over the role of MC, earning the title of the new "Blue Dragon Goddess." Reflecting on this honor, Han Ji-min said, "When I think about the legacy and stature of senior Kim Hye-soo, I couldn’t even imagine taking over her role as MC. I deeply respect her contribution to the Blue Dragon Film Awards and will do my best to uphold the tradition and dignity she has established."
Lee Je-hoon, the new "Blue Dragon Man," will also take on the challenge of hosting. He made his debut in the 2006 short film Truth, Litmus and gained widespread recognition with the 2011 independent film Bleak Night, for which he won Best New Actor at the 32nd Blue Dragon Film Awards. Lee expressed his excitement, saying, "When I was offered the role of MC for the prestigious Blue Dragon Film Awards, I felt both anxious and immensely honored. As someone who has always loved movies and admired the awards show since childhood, being given this opportunity is a tremendous honor."
He added, "Since the Blue Dragon Film Awards is a celebration for filmmakers and audiences alike, I will prepare with sincerity and do my best to honor the legacy of actors like Kim Hye-soo and others who have made the event what it is today. I am truly grateful."
The 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards will be broadcast live on KBS 2TV on November 29.
