Singer G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) is embarking on a challenge to transmit his music and music videos created with Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI’s Sora to space, in collaboration with AI entertech company Galaxy Corporation and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology). G-Dragon, who also serves as a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST, is poised to set a new milestone in ‘entertech’ – a fusion of space science, AI, and entertainment.
The ‘G-Dragon Space Music Transmission Project,’ taking place at the KAIST Space Research Institute at 8 PM KST on April 9th, is a collaborative effort between Galaxy Corporation and KAIST, embodying the future of entertech that transcends space and time. This initiative goes beyond a simple musical endeavor, being hailed as an artistic experiment aimed at permanently preserving human culture in space and attempting communication with other civilizations.
Notably, this transmission is linked to NASA’s ‘Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence’ (SETI) project. SETI is renowned for its historical project of transmitting music by the British rock band The Beatles into space, making the G-Dragon Space Music Transmission Project the first of its kind from South Korea.
Galaxy Corporation has been building a collaborative relationship with KAIST since last year, aiming to lead the future entertainment industry through the convergence of entertainment and technology that transcends space and time. Recently, the company held a private meeting with Microsoft (MS) CEO Satya Nadella as the sole entertech company, and is now actively pursuing the globalization of AI entertech.
