Girl Group BLACKPINK has raised its K-Pop status in the global market by confirming outstanding results in the year-end closing of the music chart of the Greater China region.
BLACKPINK's hit song 'Kill This Love' recorded the highest sales volume for '2019 K-Pop Digital Album' (as of December 30) on QQ Music, the largest music site in China.
It was ranked 15th in the top 20 of QQ's music and 2nd second highest among overseas artists. Taylor Swift's 'Rubber' (8th) was the only foreign artist's song that ranked higher than Black Pink.
BLACKPINK has swept the top spot, including No. 1 in 2019 K-Pop Top 20, ranked by KKBOX, Asia's largest music streaming site.
In the chart, 'Kill This Love' came first, member Jenny's 'SOLO' second, and 'Don't Know What To Do' came seventh, realizing Black Pink's influence in China.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK's global performance is outstanding this year.
'Kill This Love' was ranked 41st on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and 24th on the Billboard 200 chart when it was released in April, and stayed on the two charts for four consecutive weeks.
Recently, BLACKPINK's Kill This Love was ranked only 9th among K-pop in '10 Best Songs of the Year 'by British fashion magazine GQ.
