BTS member V (also known as Kim Taehyung) is gearing up for his solo debut.
His solo album 'Layover' will be simultaneously released worldwide on September 8th at 1:00 PM KST (Korean Standard Time).
According to V's agency, Big Hit Music, V will release his first solo album 'Layover' on September 8th at 1:00 PM KST. The album will contain a total of 6 songs, including 'Rainy Days', 'Blue', 'Love Me Again', 'Slow Dancing', 'For Us', and a bonus track. The title track is 'Slow Dancing', a song with a 1970s romantic soul style that evokes a free and dreamy atmosphere.
The first track of the album, 'Rainy Days', blends various ambient sounds with V's voice against the backdrop of a rainy day. The second track, 'Blue', pays homage to old-school R&B while infusing it with a modern touch, adding a unique charm.
'Love Me Again', the third track, showcases V's alluring low voice in the R&B genre. Following the title track 'Slow Dancing', the fifth track 'For Us' is a POP R&B song that exhibits deep emotions through unique lyrics and V's vocals. Serving as the epilogue of the album, the last track is a piano version of 'Slow Dancing'.
Music videos for all 5 songs, excluding the bonus track, have been produced. Big Hit Music stated, "We recommend listening to the flow from the first track to the fifth track for a connected experience."
For this solo album, V collaborated with Min Hee-jin, the overall producer of ADOR (Another Dream of Revolution). Min Hee-jin took the lead in directing various aspects of the album, including music, choreography, design, and promotion, based on V's suggestions. With this fresh collaboration, V's distinct tastes are expected to be fully reflected, showcasing a new side of V as a 'solo artist' that differs from his role in BTS.
