BTS's RM has set another record on the Billboard charts.
According to an article published on Billboard's official website on June 3 (KST), RM's second solo album 'Right Place, Wrong Person,' released on May 24, ranked 5th on the Billboard 200 chart (dated June 8).
Billboard reported that RM's new album achieved 43,000 in album sales, 7,500 SEA units (streaming equivalent albums), and 3,500 TEA units (track equivalent albums). This marks RM's third entry on the Billboard 200 as a solo artist, following his mixtape 'mono.' which ranked 26th in 2018, and 'Indigo,' which peaked at 15th in 2022.
Notably, 'Indigo' reached a high of 3rd place on this chart, and 'Right Place, Wrong Person' secured 5th place, making RM the first K-pop solo artist to have two consecutive albums in the top 5 of the Billboard 200.
'Right Place, Wrong Person' explores moments of feeling like an 'outsider in an unfitting place,' featuring 11 tracks including the title song 'LOST!'. The new album has received rave reviews from international media, with NME calling it "a beautiful and intriguing artistic work," and Hypebeast praising it as "a compelling musical journey proven by the BTS leader."
The album has been acknowledged for expanding RM's musical universe as a solo artist.
