ITZY has unveiled the music video for their second title track "Imaginary Friend" on October 28, following their recent comeback with the new mini-album GOLD on October 15.
This marks the first time since their debut that the group has released double title tracks, drawing significant attention from global K-pop fans. JYP Entertainment first released the music video for GOLD on the day of the album's release and followed it up with the complete music video for Imaginary Friend on October 28.
In the video, Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna captivate viewers with their dreamy vocals and fresh visuals. The group's elegant choreography enhances their reputation as "K-pop's performance queens," building anticipation for the upcoming performance video and dance practice video, which will be released on October 29 and 30, respectively. In addition, the music video photos shared on ITZY's official SNS on October 27 showcase the members' stunning visuals and icy, mysterious atmosphere, reaffirming their status as "concept masters."
Imaginary Friend, a pop dance track composed by renowned K-pop producer Ryan Jhun, who also worked on GOLD, combines vintage pop guitar, acoustic band sounds, and sweet vocal harmonies. The lyrics are filled with a sense of ambiguity, leaving listeners to wonder whether the figure that appears in one's imagination, offering protection and support, is an angel, a demon, or perhaps a reflection of oneself, enhancing the song's imaginative depth.
ITZY has also released English versions of both GOLD and Imaginary Friend. On November 2, the group will hold their official fan meeting at Olympic Hall in Seoul's Olympic Park. The fan meeting tickets sold out in both general sales and additional seating, further demonstrating ITZY's immense popularity.
