South Korean singer and actor Hwang Min-hyun is expected to showcase his next project in the drama "Study Group."
On the 22nd, a representative from Hwang Min-hyun's agency, Pledis Entertainment, stated to Star News, "Hwang Min-hyun has received an offer to appear in the drama 'Study Group,' and he is currently positively considering it."
"Study Group" tells the story of Yoon Ga-min, a boy who wants to study well but is only talented in fighting. He forms a study group at the worst school in the country and depicts the story of the college entrance exam. It is based on a popular webtoon of the same name and will be a new original series drama on Tving.
Hwang Min-hyun has been offered the role of Yoon Ga-min, the main character in the drama. After showcasing his talent as the model student Go Eun-taek in "Live On" and the skilled martial artist Seo Yul in "Hwanghon," he is expected to demonstrate a combination of his acting skills and action scenes as Yoon Ga-min, a student who wants to become a model student but ends up fighting with students who bully others. The character's unexpected twist of being not academically inclined also raises curiosity.
Meanwhile, Hwang Min-hyun will also be performing on the stage of the '男神' (Man-God) at the '2023 Asia Artist Awards (2023 AAA)' hosted by Star News.
The '男神' is the pre-show of the '2023 AAA' scheduled to be held in the second half of this year. It is a special concert featuring four global leading male actors who are recipients of the '2022 AAA' awards and leading the Hallyu wave. The concert will take place on July 8th at the Yokohama Pia Arena MM in Japan, with Hwang Min-hyun, Kim Sun-ho, Lee Jun-young, and Kim Young-dae selected as this year's 'Man-God.'
